Boy Scout & Girl Scout troops:

All of our tours fulfill the requirements for the geology merit badge. Our specialized tours are fun, exciting, educational and adventurous!

Here are just a few ways your troop can earn their badge on the tour:

Your tour guide has been a professional geologist for 10 years, and she is happy to answer questions related to her career.
The tour provides an introduction to geology that covers information about rocks, minerals, and geologic maps.
As we travel along our tour, your guide will point out and discuss various materials that are mined in our local area and their uses.

The tour covers all the material needed for the “Mineral Resources Option”, including obtaining rock/mineral samples from local sites.

We are proud to offer a special rate for your troop. Our regular rates are $27 for children, but with our specialized Boy Scout tour, the rate becomes $22 per person including troop leaders and chaperons (adults are normally $37). Our only requirement is that there be a minimum of 15 people on the tour. Troops may be combined to meet the minimum.
