Meet Your Guide
Amanda Roberts has a B.S. in Geology from the University of North Alabama and a M.S. in Geology with a specialization in fluvial geomorphology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has worked as a professional geologist for 10 years, including but not limited to, a senior hydrologist position with the National Weather Service, geological consulting, wetland delineation, and college level geology instruction.
In addition, Amanda has experience teaching “Geology of the Blue Ridge” and “Meteorology of the Blue Ridge” at the University of North Carolina Asheville Blue Ridge Naturalist Program, as well as teaching local geology summer workshops for the Pisgah Forest Institute and the Blue Ridge Naturalist Program.
Blue Ridge Geology Tours, LLC was born out of Amanda's passion for teaching others about the wonders of our natural world, and especially the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her presentations utilize props to demonstrate mountain-building concepts, and her energetic and engaging teaching style is perfect for children and adults.
